The Gordons of Manar in Australia Herbert Eustace Gordon Henry Eustace Gordon was born on 20 November 1879, the son of Frederick Pascoe Gordon, and educated at the Scot's College in Sydney. After farming for a while at Fitzroy Falls, he moved to Sydney where he worked as an accountant with W D & H O Wills. Ultimately he established a very successful real estate business at Neutral Bay which he passed on to his son. Henry died on 17 May 1968. He married at Burwood on 16 December 1904, Amelia Georgina Lackey, who was born on 12 December 1876, and died on 30 July 1968. They had: 1. Marjory Clare, born 24 December 1905, died unmarried 20 September 1983. 2.William Lambart, born on 14 February 1914 and educated at Fort Street Boy's High School. After leaving school, Bill worked for Dalgety & Co before taking over his father's real estate business at Neutral Bay which he continued to run until he retired in the late 1970s. From 1942 to 1945, he served in the army in New Guinea during the 2nd World War, mainly in a searchlight battery. After the war Bill became heavily involved in Rotary and was president of his club in Mosman and awarded a Paul Harris fellowship. Bill was keenly interested in his Gordon heritage and travelled to Scotland on a number of occasions. He became a personal friend of the chief, the Marquess of Huntly, who appointed Bill a clan chieftain for Australia and a member of the Council of the House of Gordon. He was largely responsible for organising a highly successful reunion of the Gordons of Manar in Australia at Braidwood in 1986. Bill died suddenly at Lake Macquarie on 29 February 1988. He married on 7 September 1940, Venita Dean, who was born on 28 June 1917 and died on 5 August 1986. Bill and Venita had: _ _ _ _1. Susan Gai, born 2 April 1946, married on 5 May 1972, Peter McCabe Inman. _ _ _ _2. Philip Andrew, born 7 December 1957, married on 28 February 1981, Theresa Marie Doherty, who was born on 28 June 1959. They have: (i) Ryan William, born 15 April 1986. (ii) Anna Jessica, born 21 August 1981. (iii) Holly Suzanne, born 11 April 1983.
